What We Do. . .

Our members do incredible work. On average, each year,

    • Help nearly 3 million veterans

  • Contribute $36 million toward veterans and military families

  • Volunteer 9.3 million hours to support veterans programs

  • Contribute more than $2 million to programs benefitting children and youth

Why We Matter. . .

The 2014 estimated value of one hour of volunteer service is $23.07, according to the Independent Sector, a coalition of charities, foundations, and corporations that publishes research important to the nonprofit sector. American Legion Auxiliary members have volunteered more than 10 million hours for a collective value of service to our veterans, service members, and their families of more than $3.1 billion. That’s quite a global impact, and a powerful number that accentuates who we are, what we do, and why we matter!
